A man in his 20s has passed on after an accident on a scrambler bicycle in Magherafelt in County Londonderry on Saturday evening.
The impact occurred at around 16:00 BST on the Castledawson Road, police said.
Police are exploring the conditions of the impact.
They are interesting to any individual who saw the accident or may have caught dashcam film to reach them.
Mid-Ulster councilor Cora Corry said it was “horrendous to get up toward the beginning of today to the grievous news that a youthful life has been lost on our streets”.
The Sinn Féin councilor added: “It’s a truly bustling street and certainly something we must glance at. It’s been raised previously and I know with it being a particularly bustling street we’re requesting that individuals approach to the police with any data they would have.”
Christine McFlynn, a SDLP councilor in Mid-Ulster, said there was a “profound feeling of shock and misery in Magherafelt” following the demise.
“A young fellow in his 20s has been taken from his family and his local area excessively soon.”
