Sara Ali Khan has always been vocal about her relationship with her parents Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh. She has never shied away from talking about her parents’ divorce and how it affected her. In a recent interview with a leading magazine, Sarah said that her parents were happier individuals after their divorce.
Sarah could understand that her parents were not happy with each other
Sarah confessed that even as a child she could understand that her parents were not happy with each other. “I have always tended to mature a little bit faster than other people my age. And even at age nine, I think I had the maturity to see that these two people who lived together in our house were not happy. And suddenly, they were happier living in two new homes. For example, my mom, who I don’t think had laughed in 10 years, was suddenly happy, beautiful, and excited, just like she should be. Why would I be sad if I have two happy parents in two happy homes? So no, I don’t think it was difficult at all… They are both infinitely happy today and in a much more positive place. I see my mother laughing and being silly, which is what I remember for so many years. It’s a pleasure to see him like this again.”
Get a different kind of love and warmth too
Earlier in an interview Sara had said, “It is very easy. Seen there are two options. Either live in the same house where no one is happy or live separately, where everyone is happy in their own lives, and each time you meet, you will also get a different kind of love and warmth.” Sara lives with her mother but she is also close to her father. “I also have a father who is always available on the phone, and I can meet him whenever I want.”
